ND Dems endorse Mathern for governor, Boucher for running mate
North Dakota Democrats chose Tim Mathern as their candidate for governor and Merle Boucher as his running mate, minutes after Mathern defeated Boucher for the ticket's top spot.Mathern, a state senator from Fargo, defeated Boucher, a Rolette legislator and the North Dakota House's Democratic leader, for the endorsement for governor Saturday. Democrats are holding their state convention in Grand Forks this weekend.Mathern received 489 votes to Boucher's 461, or 51 percent to 49 percent. Read more
